What's New

The D20 Stock Index was down 1.99%, losing 2.753 to end the first week in December at 137.52. The loss was driven by the two big absolute losers, Google (GOOG) down $16.57 or 3.06% and Tesla (TSLA) down $20.81 or 8.51%. The biggest percentage loser was the Chinese company BYD (BYDDY) whose ADR shares lost $1.15 or 9.50% to end the week at $10.95. Denso (DNZOY) gained $1.31 or 5.61% to end at 24.66. We’ve added two upcoming events. In January, don’t miss NAIAS 2015 in Detroit. Since 1907 Detroit has hosted an auto show (with WWII years an exception) and this proves to be an exciting event. Later in the month, CAR (Center for Automotive Research) coordinates its Michigan Connected and Automated Vehicle working group on behalf of the Michigan DOT. Click here for more upcoming events.

There was a bevy of unique news around the industry this week. Take a look at Michelin’s 12th edition of the international ‘Challenge Bibendum’ held in Chengdu China or a Fortune 500’s Tech reporter’s ride through the Big Apple in a Mercedes’ S550 Coupe, chock full of self-driving technologies. Autonomous tractors work the fields according to Grainews, while rain appears to hamper a competition in this Hyundai video from CarBuzz. In the UK , 4 cities are cited for autonomous car trials in 2015 while Property Casualty 360 shares videos of 6 Game-Changing driverless cars. Lots of good stuff.
