This Thursday (February 27, 2014) from noon to 1:00pm EST, Telematics Update is hosting a free webinar entitled:

“Honda, ICC & Michigan DoT explore certification & regulation for V2V intelligent transportation deployment”.

Telematics Update has lined up Matthew Smith, Head of Telematics, ITS Program Manager at the Michigan DoT, Radovan Miucic, Research Engineer from Honda and Catherine McCullough, executive Director, Intelligent Car Coalition to speak and answer questions.  Topics they will discuss include:

  • Why minimum standards on the distance and speed of data transfer will be vital for a reliable, high quality foundation to facilitate an optimized intelligent transport system,
  • Whether NHTSA, test beds, OEMS or a more focused regulating body will provide the certification guidelines and ‘rubber stamp’ auto safety technology as road worthy,
  • Examination of the accuracy of testing techniques such as simulations, off road environments and small scale deployments to ensure test bed successes translate onto the road.

Given the NHTSA announcement at the beginning of the month and that this technology that is poised to radically change the automobile industry and improve safety on the roads, this is very timely seminar.
