NVIDIA’s Graphics Processor Success Powers D20

Driven by 15 price gainers and only five losers, the Driverless Transportation Index (D20) jumped 2.2 percent to close at 158.63 and easily outgained the Dow’s 0.2 percent and the S&P 500’s 0.1 percent gains.

Over the last five weeks, the D20 has added 11.5 percent to its value while the Dow and the S&P 500 have each only added 2.5 percent.

NVIDIA (NVDA) was the leading percentage price gainer, adding $4.84 to close at $63.04.  Continued good news about NVIDIA’s recently introduced line of graphics processors powered its stock to a fourth consecutive week of gains.

Almost half of this week’s D20 3.44 point gain was due to NVIDIA’s 8.3-percent jump.

Without any major financial news or product announcements, TomTom (TOM2) quietly continued it streak of consecutive gains with another strong week, gaining 3.8 percent.

The leading price percentage loser was Delphi (DLPH), which dropped 3.44 percent, or $2.28, to close the week at $63.98.  It was the third consecutive week of losses amid large trading volume for the automobile parts manufacturer.
