Mile Marker Subscription

THE MILE MARKER NEWSLETTER

When the Driverless Transportation website was revamped, subscriber notifications changed along with it. The new version of the site had two types of subscriptions.

  1. Mile Marker Newsletter - The Mile Marker highlighted what was happening in the world of Driverless Transportation, sent no more than once per week.
  2. Everything Subscriber - This subscription sent an e-mail every time something new was posted to the site — a separate list from the Mile Marker, and one that could arrive several times a day.

Anyone viewing this as an e-mail was on the Everything Subscriber list by default, with an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each message for those who wanted fewer e-mails.

The Mile Marker Newsletter subscription depended on how someone had signed up — either with just an e-mail address, which auto-subscribed them to the Mile Marker, or with a WordPress account, which needed a separate opt-in.

The Everything list required subscribers to unsubscribe themselves — it could not be done for them.
